Calvary Lutheran Church and University Chapel is a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregation in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Our goal is to bring a Christ-centered message to the local campus of the University of Wisconsin and the surrounding community.

Our pastor

Pastor David Emmrich is a native of Milwaukee, WI, where he was born on December 22, 1954. He attended Christ Memorial Lutheran School in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1972. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1985 and a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1989. He earned a Master of Sacred Theology degree from Concordia Seminary and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from St. Cloud State University in 1999.

Pastor Emmrich’s fondest wish is for you to discover "that God is not a fierce tyrant who is against us because we fail to meet his demands, but is a loving Father who is for us, who forgives and accepts us in mercy for Jesus’ sake."¹
